Year 11 student Heidi Shumack represented Australia as part of the Junior Dolphins at the Junior Pan Pacific Swimming Championships in Vancouver, Canada, from 17-20 August.

The Championships brought together some of the leading swimmers aged 18 and under from across the Pacific region and beyond, with athletes representing the USA, Japan, Canada, Argentina, New Zealand, Singapore, Brazil, Mexico and the South Pacific Nations.

Following her experience competing at the Junior World Championships in 2025, Heidi was one of the few Australian team representatives with previous international experience. She put that experience to good use, producing a series of excellent performances across the Championships.

Heidi won bronze in the 100m Backstroke, as well as bronze as part of the Australian 4x100m Mixed Medley Relay and 4x100m Women鈥檚 Medley Relay teams. She also finished fourth in both the 200m Individual Medley and 200m Backstroke.
