The creativity, individuality, and artistic achievements of our Transition students were celebrated at the annual Transition Visual Arts Exhibition, showcasing a wonderful collection of student artworks and creative expression.

The exhibition provides an opportunity for students in the Transition Program to share their artistic journeys and celebrate the skills, confidence, and creativity they have developed through Visual Arts. Each year, students create works in response to a unique theme, exploring ideas through a range of materials, techniques, and artistic approaches. This year鈥檚 theme was: The World on a Plate.

By looking at and making art, students saw food as a universal language that expresses who we are and where we come from. They translated these global influences and personal histories into a tactile "tasting menu" of clay pretzels, hand-pinched dumplings, and sculptural cakes. Through ceramics, drawing, miniature painting, photography, and mixed-media sculpture, each piece reflects a unique perspective on the power of a shared meal to build community and preserve memory.

The exhibition is a wonderful celebration of the students鈥� achievements and reflects the inclusive nature of artmaking at PLC Sydney. As Visual Arts teacher Nicola de Vries shared, 鈥淭he World on a Plate is a joyous testament to the students鈥� technical growth, their wit, and the inspirational creativity they bring to each class.鈥�
